[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Tipping is very much a western import and some guides may say it\u2019s not customary. That being said tipping in Cambodia is an important form of secondary income for Cambodians and is seen as an incentive for good service.<\/p>\n

However, all ETG holidays are now (May 2021) \u2018Tip-Inclusive\u2019 so the total holiday cost includes all tips for your guides, drivers, and other in-country experience providers<\/a>. This is all taken care of before you set off, in just one simple upfront cost. There is no stress around whether, when, and how much to tip; no more awkward fumbling for notes, or that feeling that you\u2019ve under-tipped and offended your guide. The only people in an ETG holiday you might feel the need to tip are hotel or boat staff, at restaurants, and in taxis, but that is entirely at your discretion.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Per group travelling (both couples and families) \u2013<\/p>\n

1. How much should I tip guides in Cambodia?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

As an estimate, $7-10 per day would be about right for a good job (more for something special) with less than a whole day at a pro rata rate.<\/p>\n

2. What about tipping for drivers?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Your driver will also be happy to accept a tip \u2013 generally about 2\/3 of what you give to the guide.<\/p>\n

3. Hotels<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Small tips (around a dollar or equivalent) for hotel staff or porters are commonplace and generally all tips are appreciated whatever their value. A dollar or so for their help is a good guideline.<\/p>\n

4. Restaurants<\/strong><\/h3>\n

There\u2019s no standard amount to give at restaurants although 10% of the total bill is a good idea. If you weren\u2019t satisfied with the service, don\u2019t feel obliged to leave anything said.<\/p>\n

5. Motos\/ tuk tuks<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Tipping a moto or tuk tuk driver is unusual but if you feel they\u2019ve done a good job feel free to give $ 1-2.<\/p>\n
