Komodo Adventure & Magical Bali

An idea for your holiday

This sumptuous itinerary allows you to experience Bali’s rich culture, fascinating history, and the spellbinding scenery and wildlife on Komodo, which has some of the world’s most beautiful beaches and legendary dragons.

The ETG experiences ensure you experience the timeless magic of Bali away from the crowds of tourists who congregate in areas of the East Coast. We also get you that little bit further from the beaten track in Komodo and witness the dragons with a first-class nature guide.

Highlights include:

  • Savour authentic Balinese flavours during a home-cooked meal in a traditional village.
  • Trek through lush rice paddies and volcanic valleys, uncovering the stories they hold.
  • Go on a once-in-a-lifetime liveaboard adventure, waking up each day surrounded by soul-stirring Komodo NP.
  • Encounter Komodo dragons in their natural habitat with expert park rangers.
  • Dive into vibrant marine worlds, swimming alongside manta rays, turtles, and dazzling coral reefs.
  • Marvel at the panoramic views of Padar Island, one of Indonesia’s most photographed locations.

This is a sample itinerary which we will tailor to suit you. Prices are dependent on destination, flights & dates but ETG holidays always include the following:

    • International flights (if required)
    • Guides, drivers & their tips
    • Accommodation
    • Specified meals & snacks
    • Your immersive experiences
    • Internal & regional transfers

    DAY 1 DEPART THE UK

Depart the UK on your overnight flight to Bali.

    DAY 2-5 TABANAN (Bali)

Arrive in Bali and immerse yourself in the island’s natural splendour. Set amidst clove and mangosteen trees, your villa boasts panoramic views of rice terraces and verdant forests. Enjoy a waterfall excursion and relish a home-cooked lunch at Putu Griya House. Deepen your understanding of Balinese culture through trekking and ceremonial experiences.

    DAY 6-8 UBUD (Bali)

Transfer to your hotel on the outskirts of Ubud. Embark on a private countryside walk led by a Balinese Brahmin, gaining insights into nature, religion, and local customs. Traverse through paddy fields, visit quaint villages, and learn about the intricate rituals interwoven with daily life. The walk at the guide’s residence concludes with a traditional lunch and a Balinese blessing.

Adventure seekers could opt for white-water rafting or discover Sebatu village on a cycling tour with a delightful picnic lunch. Unwind amidst the serene surroundings of the hotel, surrounded by lush landscapes and the cultural richness of Ubud.

    DAY 9 & 10 SIDEMAN (BALI)

Transfer to the picturesque hills of East Bali. You can laze around the resort and take in the views, pool and spa or choose a more active stay. Activities on offer include a trek to nearby Pura Bukit, home to traditional Ikat weavers, cycling through the foothills of Mount Agung or exploring the secluded coast nearby. Whatever you choose to do, you’ll enjoy a remarkably beautiful landscape of rice paddy terraces, volcanic valleys, lush tropical forest and mountain terrain.

    Day 11-15 Komodo National Park

Today, you’ll go to the airport for a short flight to Labuan Bajo on Flores before transferring to your resort, the launch pad for your once-in-a-lifetime adventure in Komodo National Park.

Step on to your liveaboard boat, your home for the next four days, and get ready to experience the magic of cruising this pristine part of the world. It’s possible to explore Komodo on daytrips from the mainland, but by staying on a boat, you'll have access to prime spots before the crowds arrive and, even better, reach secluded islands that most travellers can only dream about.

You’ll snorkel through some of the most extraordinary coral reefs on the planet, glide alongside gentle manta rays, and swim with nemo and turtles in crystalline waters. When the sun dips below the horizon, the magic isn’t over. Evenings back on deck are all about soaking up spectacular sunsets at sea, dining under the star-studded sky (look out for the Milky Way), and spotting glowing bioluminescence.

Spend a morning on Padar, known for its picture-postcard viewpoint, and the afternoon on Komodo, trekking with a park ranger in search of the legendary dragons themselves.

The boat can be chartered exclusively for up to 12, but scheduled departures are available, too.

On the final day head back to Labuan Bajo for a night back in the resort.

    Day 16 Fly Home

It’s possible to stay a little longer or extend your trip to other islands in Indonesia. Otherwise, you depart Labuan Bajo for your flight back to the UK today. A variety of connections are available via Kuala Lumpur, Bali or Java.
