The Shompoo cruise is a two-day journey down the Mekong River on board a custom-built slow boat. Your journey begins at the Thai/Laos border town of Huai Say and takes you past incredible scenery en route to Luang Prabang, the UNESCO world heritage site.
The boat cruises gently, stopping off at rural villages where you can experience the local way of life. You disembark for an overnight stay in Pakbeng, where you'll stay in a comfortable lodge on the banks of the Mekong.
The boat is fitted with a sun deck, an indoor seating area and a bar. Staff are attentive and serve you with a flowing supply of drinks and snacks. Tasty Asian food is prepared fresh on the boat and served as you cruise.
