This is a fantastic way to see Saigon just like a local. Zipping through the city on your iconic Vespa moped, you’ll stop to taste the tantalising treats of street food stalls and get swept up in Saigon’s dynamic nightlife.
This vespa tour begins when you are collected from your hotel by your own personal Vespa driver/guide. Heading to a central café-bar you will meet up with the rest of the tour group. After getting to know each other over a sundowner you’ll head off to your first restaurant.
The first restaurant is right in the heart of the residential area of the city; legend has it that it was once the stronghold of the Vietnamese Mafia! It is an authentic roadside stall, with eels swimming in their tanks and frogs staring up at you. The food on offer is interesting; you’ll need to bring your adventurous side but it is of fantastic quality.
As the tour progresses you’ll take in a variety of different restaurants and your group will ride alongside the locals on the busy streets. The piece de la resistance at the end of the tour is “The Secret Garden”. This small jazz café is hidden away so discreetly along the Saigon backstreets that you simply couldn’t find it alone. Venturing into an old Vespa maintenance store and up a nondescript stairway you will be amazed by the dark, velvety, atmospheric rooms that emerge to the tune of local musicians. You’ll get to listen to singers, guitarists and violinists and make sure to try a glass of Café Da, the frozen Vietnamese coffee - it is amazing.
All drinks (including alcoholic) and food is included in this vespa tour which lasts from about 7pm until 10.30pm.
